Honoring the Spirit of Unity and Sacrifice: A Message from Our Founder
As the sun rises on September 11th, a solemn yet resolute spirit envelops us, serving as a poignant reminder of a day that altered the course of history and united us in resilience and hope. As we stand on the 22nd anniversary of this tragic day, we are reminded of the courage, the sacrifice, and the indomitable spirit that defines us as a nation.
At Ember Works, this date holds a special place in our hearts as we reflect on the spirit of service that drives our founder and CEO, Ken McDermott. A dedicated volunteer firefighter for 13 years, Ken embodies the very principles of community, bravery, and commitment that were so powerfully displayed on 9/11. His journey has been greatly influenced by the heroes who stepped forward on that fateful day, individuals who exhibited extraordinary courage and unity in the face of unparalleled adversity.
Ken McDermott shares, "As a volunteer firefighter, I've witnessed firsthand the strength that comes from unity, the resilience that is born from compassion, and the beauty that can be found in serving others. Today, I stand with my fellow Americans in honoring the memory of those we lost on 9/11, and in recognizing the heroes who emerged, displaying the true spirit of America."
In this reflective time, Ember Works encourages each one of us to ignite a flame of hope, unity, and service in our hearts. As we continue to build and fortify homes, we carry with us the spirit of resilience, creating spaces that are not just physical structures, but sanctuaries of safety, love, and togetherness.
As we commemorate this day, let us come together to build a future that honors the memory of those we have lost, a future anchored in unity, kindness, and an unwavering resolve to stand together as one community, one nation.
In remembrance of 9/11, Ember Works is committed to fostering a spirit of community and resilience in all we do. We invite you to join us in lighting a candle, offering a prayer, or simply taking a moment to reflect on the lessons of courage, unity, and humanity that 9/11 imparts on us, even two decades later.
Today, we remember. Today, we stand united. Today, we rekindle the flame of hope and resilience, a flame that burns eternally, illuminating our path forward.
